An avowed Anglophile and architecture buff, Ramona Shepherd holds a degree from the Department of Environmental Design at UC-Davis. A graduation trip to the UK sealed her love for both Scotland and the Yorkshire region. Her favorite pastimes are watercolors, nature hikes, and rambling through herb gardens or local festivals--when she's not catching up on the latest finds in archaeology, geology, green architecture, and climatology.
Raised in a geologist's family, she grew up hiking and camping across the country, continuing that tradition with her own family. She now lives with her husband and Shetland Sheepdog in North Carolina, where she supports local farms, artisans, and traditional craftsmen.
